Scanlation Progress

I realize it's been a while, but I'd like to announce that LoQ's episodic reviews are officially on hiatus until further notice. On the other hand, all other functions on the site are coming back as of this week, namely, scanlations. I've had a difficult few weeks since school let out so I'm fairly behind for personal reasons, but I plan to get New Order done within the next month and start working on AO and translating the Niji novel.

Thanks for your patience, I hope to bring you good stuff ASAP!

Belated Happy Birthday, LoQ!

I seem to have forgotten among the frenzy of exams and my lack of time to commit to the site, but we're a year into this now despite the lack of activity. Thank you all so much for tuning in and some of you for waiting patiently. Depending on how much time I find myself with my thesis this coming semester, Ivan and I may decide to cover a series or two (we're looking at Bones' series for now). There won't be a winter preview seeing as how late it is in the season, but there will be a few intros to series I'm trying out. See you all in the next couple of weeks!

Apologies for the Lack of Activity Recently...

Unfortunately, real life has me a bit tied up and more than a little unmotivated to write on any real basis recently, so I'm sorry for leaving the site to languish like this for so long. Currently I'm swamped with finals and studying, among other personal concerns, but I will motivate myself to at least write intros and outros to each season as usual, and other miscellaneous reviews (such as for games or anime I've finally gotten around to) as well as my translation projects (which are actually getting done, believe it or not; they're just taking more time because Efter and I are both busy and taking our time). I really do miss LoQ, quite dearly, but it seems I've lost a lot of motivation recently. Thanks for sticking around, I won't be gone 100%, but for at least a while, things will probably stay somewhat quiet.

The Battle of Fall 2013 Week 1: The Lineup

It's a solo effort this week, but Fall is finally upon us!

Updates

Hi everyone, I'm really sorry that LoQ has been really quiet as of late; I've had a hard time adjusting to school and some of my earlier plans fell through as a result. Here's what's happening:

-Eureka Seven: New Order is currently being cleaned by my good friend Efter, so I can't finish translation until she sends me the completed chapter.

-Eureka Seven AO is currently being cleaned by me, but since I've been busy I've set it aside until after I can finish NO.

-Thehouseonmars has quit blogging Free! episodically because she's starting school and can't find the time; however, she will write an overall review by the last episode.

-Kaminai has been dropped, and Shingeki no Kyoujin is on hiatus for a bit because Ivan hasn't had the time to catch up yet.

-I'm still writing Overall Reviews on all the shows I finished this season.

-Ivan and I are working on the Fall Preview, it's a tad belated but should be done soon.

-All my RC show posts will be updated here for the archive's sake, but for now they're all readable on Random Curiosity.

Apologies for all of this, I want to run an organized site but I'll have to get better at finding time first. Thank you so much for sticking to LoQ anyway, I hope to be active more frequently in the Fall; Valvrave and Little Busters: Refrain are definitely being blogged!

Site Announcements & The End of an Era

First off, I'd like to apologize for the lack of activity on LoQ recently. Apart from some hectic stuff going on as I prepare to move back to college this week, Mars has also been ill post-surgery and my internet has been frustratingly slow.

Apart from that however, I want to announce that LoQ is going on an indeterminate break from episodic blogging. I don't mean that I'm quitting, as I'm still going to work on Random Curiosity on an episodic basis, but unfortunately I've started to feel burnout from my attempts to keep up with so many series every season. That doesn't mean I don't like blogging, but when you've spent an entire summer mostly blogging, scanlating, writing for a visual novel, and otherwise living on what boils down to work, you get tired, and you get stressed. I still want to blog, but I don't want to blog on a compulsive basis, especially when it comes down to returning to school and setting time aside for my real life endeavors.

So here's what's happening:

All episodic series will be dropped within the next week, minus a few exceptions.

Those exceptions are all my RC shows (ie, Servant x Service and Kaminomi for this season), as well as the still-running Shingeki and my favorite show of the season, Kaminai. Free! won't be dropped either, since my sister is still covering that. However, Uchouten Kazoku, Blood Lad, and Gin no Saji are dropped; not because I don't like them, but because I can't keep up with this hectic schedule. That being said, I'm not dropping any other features of the site; I'm still doing mid and final season reviews and season previews, as well as overall reviews of any series I've finished regardless of when, nor are any of my scanlation projects being dropped. It's just that I'm going to be more lenient on myself about scheduling and just take things at an easier pace.

Apologies for any inconvenience this might cause, and I'm sorry for dropping all these shows so far into the season. Thank you so much for your support and friendliness over the past three seasons, but unfortunately I'm constantly stressed out by my hobby, which is never a good sign. Perhaps someday I'll return to being a full-time episodic blogger, but for the meantime, I need a rest.

Summer 2013 Final Schedule

There you have it, the final schedule for LoQ this season. It's a few less series than usual due to an unusually busy summer, and unfortunately I wasn't able to fit in everything I wanted to cover, but it should be a good season regardless. I realize I'm a bit behind on nearly all of these, but the next week will be spent catching up and everything should be in order soon. That being said, I hope you enjoy the season and that you'll be able to find something to your liking here!

Random Curiosity's Spring 2013 Podcast

Hey everyone! Just dropping a line in between writing reviews to let you all know that the new Random Curiosity podcast is out. I took part in this one, and seeing as I haven't had time to schedule my own, this is likely the only one you'll hear me in til summer time. 50,000 Hits

Whoa it's only been two months since 10,000 hits, so I'm shocked that we're at 50,000 already. I suppose part of it is from spreading the word on RC, but it makes me genuinely happy to see LoQ growing up. I know I'm not the best blogger or writer, but I'm seriously touched to see readers stopping by. Even if it was by chance or for the sake of my scanlation projects, thank you so much for coming! I hope to continue to grow and become a better scanlator/writer for all of you!

LoQ Updates

I'm trying out some new looks on LoQ for the next few days. Efter made me a lovely new banner and I want to try to spruce things up a bit to match. Feel free to chime in suggestions or preferences!

Delays

Hi everyone, sorry about the lack of posts on LoQ for the last few days. I moved out of my dorm on Friday night so I was internetless until I arrived home on Sunday night. I've been unpacking ever since, so it's been hard to find time to really sit down and write. However, starting today there will be a flood of posts. Here's the schedule in order of priority.

Dansai > Hataraku > Karneval > Yahari > Valvrave > Chihayafuru > Shingeki > Gargantia > Mid-Season Report > RDG

Eureka Seven AO chapter 7 will be finished by the weekend, some RRVs are in progress, and I'm working things out for that Eureka Seven Stream (seems my internet goes out every hour or so here so we might have to figure out a different way to go about it). NO volume two will arrive by next week, so work on that will resume at some point in early June.

It's great to be back, so I'll work hard to get things rolling again!

Manga & Scanlation Updates

All three of the new Eureka Seven manga (NO, AO, and Save a Prayer) are releasing next Saturday. Yours truly has NO and AO preordered, and I know that Efter and the other /a/ scanlators are working on SaP. Either way, rest assured, you will have your fill of both New Order and Astral Ocean for the rest of the summer. This is the final volume of NO, and also the volume of AO where the most horribly painful event in the E7 multiverse occurs. You'll cry for both.

AO 7 is being cleaned and should be translated by next week.

Eureka SeVN Recruitment and Advertising

We're still in need of at least three more writers, one for the Holland/Talho arc, and two for the Anemone/Dominic arc. Eureka Seven Fanmade Visual Novel Project - Recruitment

Yes, we're completely serious.

Several members of the Eureka Seven fanbase (including yours truly) have decided to create a fanmade visual novel for the series this summer. This is a 100% serious project that we're going all out on, played out like a dating sim, and we're currently short on about four writers, two for an Anemone/Dominic arc, and two for a Holland/Talho arc. If you're interested in writing for us, please contact me either here on LoQ or via Tumblr at SoL. Please note that writing for a VN is not a small feat, and you'll be expected to take responsibility as a member of your writing team. However, it should be a fun project, so if you're at all curious, please let me know!

The Battle of Spring 2013: The Results

It was a long and exhausting first two weeks, but it all paid off with a great Spring lineup.

I Get to Write WHERE!?

Somehow, beyond my wildest dreams, I've been invited to write at Random Curiosity starting this Spring! I'm shocked beyond words at this opportunity; RandomC is hands down the best anime blog I've ever seen, and it's a huge reason for the inspiration behind LoQ. Getting to write there is such an honor, I can't even begin to explain how much.

Though I'll be blogging Hataraku Maou-sama! and Karneval there this Spring, LoQ is here to stay and fully operational, so thank you for sticking around and supporting me these few months I've been blogging! I hope to continue improving so that I can deliver the best quality posts and translations possible. I hope you can always find something to your liking here and at RC! Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!

Spring 2013 Week 1: Checking In

Half a week in and things already look substantially different than they did a few days ago. Kakumeiki Valvrave and Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko won't premiere til next week, so they're staying on the list as potentials for now. There's some issues with Uchuu Senkan; since it's already been released as an OVA prior to television broadcasting, it may not be viable to cover it as an ongoing series. Everything else (barring anything I've not yet covered) is probably here to stay.

We're Off to Battle: Spring 2013 Week 1

Blogging a new anime season requires lots of preparation and work; it's like heading off to a huge confrontation with mecha, swords, and whatever other powers you can imagine.

Lightbox and Site Updates

This is pretty much what I feel like whenever I realize I need to get through HTML to fix stuff; I'm not much of a programmer and sometimes trying to fix something really simple takes a lot more coding than I actually want to do. But it has to get done one way or another, hence the Renton determination cap.

Anyway, Lightbox is still down on all Blogger accounts, but I've found a French workaround. Clicking on screencaps will now direct you to the same Lightbox format as before, though the numbering will be in French (3 sur 18, for example). I'm searching for an English alternative (because I'm too OCD to let it go), but for now that's the best patch I could find.

I've also added a different set of share buttons at the bottom of posts, including a custom Tumblr one I styled myself to try and make things more uniform. Hopefully these are nicer to use, though please let me know if you preferred the old style.

In addition, I've set up a Twitter for the site, which you can follow from the sidebar or here. (The background images are not of my own creation; I just really like the arrangement. The original can be found on Eka's tumblr: Sayonara, Fall in Love)
