Eureka SeVN Recruitment and Advertising

We're still in need of at least three more writers, one for the Holland/Talho arc, and two for the Anemone/Dominic arc. If you are interested, please contact me or Eka at Sayonara, Fall in Love, or meet us on IRC at irc.esper.net #eurekaseven this Sunday night. This is an entirely non-profit and fanmade project, and if you are interested in any other aspect such as art or music, you're welcome as well.

Update: All writing spots filled except for one A/D writer position. Other aspects still open, including music, (potentially) art, programming, proofreaders, etc.

Poster courtesy of DeepBleu (art) and Efter (design), both of whom are active members of the project.

    1. Hi Renton! We're meeting today at 9/10 EST on IRC.

In order to use IRC, you need a client, such as Chatzilla, but if you want to join quickly, just use mibbit.com. Make an account, enter irc.esper.net for "network", and enter #eurekaseven where it says "channel". Let me know if you have problems logging on and I'll be happy to help you in more detail!

  2. Well, I wish I could help you somehow :s
All I can do is support you the best I can, so good luck!
    Sincerely, Daniel.

    1. Aw Daniel you can help if you want! If you want to be a writer we still have a position for Anemone/Dominic, and your English doesn't have to be perfect! One of the girls in the Eureka/Renton portion is from Mexico, and it's fine! We have proofreaders and quality checkers for grammar. If you want to pop in and contribute opinions you're always welcome too!

    2. Well, I'll be honest with you, I'd love to help you guys, and I'd probably be able to do something useful x) But! Finals are around the corner, and I don't think I'm able to do everything at the same time.
Unless I misunderstood everything, and you don't plan to do it right now, in that case then, I'd need some info xD
      Sincerely, Daniel.

    3. In that case, please join us! My finals are next week, haha! The project hasn't begun real work yet; we're still in the planning stages, and you can definitely join us afterward! Would you be interested in the Anemone/Dominic position? That's what we need most, but you can join for other things as well! What would you like to know? :)

    4. Humm, could you tell me what positions are available right now? That way I can see where I'll be more useful.
Also, when do you plan to "really" start? Because my finals start in June, but I'll only finish them the 15th of July xD
Last but not least, in the hypothetic case I end up being a writer (or at least helping the writers), I'd need to extend my english vocabulary, and I'd need to play som VN (the only one I've played so far is Katawa Shoujo). So, do you know any VN I could play/read?
      Thanks for your time.
      Sincerely, Daniel.

    5. Our most urgent position is the A/D writer, but we've got openings for backup artists, musicians, proofreaders, idea contributors, pretty much anything. Well we're planning to really get things rolling in the next month, but you don't have to work every day or anything! There are no deadlines, so we're just going to go as much as we can. Also, that's a long exam period Daniel. D: Good luck!

Don't worry too much about English! There are at least four of us on the team who speak Spanish, and one of the people on A/D is a Spanish student. As to VNs, you could play something like Little Busters, but I'd say you're okay without too much experience; many of our members have only played Katawa Shoujo.

    6. As I thought, the only position I'd be able to "fill" is the A/D writer one x)
I'm still not sure I'll be really useful, but hey, I'll give it a try ;)
Do you have meetings somewhere? or a web page where everything is? That way I can meet the other writers :p
      Thanks for your time.
      Sincerely, Daniel.

    7. So you do want the job? :D Hurray! Welcome aboard!

Our meetings are on IRC every Sunday. If you need help getting online, let me know (I only learned how to use it myself!).

You can also say hello to most of the people on the project here:

Not at all! Thank YOU for being so awesome Daniel! ^^

    8. Thanks for the info, I'll look into that during the week-end, and I'll try to attend to your meeting (if I manage the IRC thing, and my time zone is not too different x)
May I contact you if I have any issue?
      Thanks again.
      Sincerely, Daniel.

    9. Not at all. Ah yeah your time zone might be an issue... Our meetings are usually starting at 8/9 Central which is about 5 AM for you. @_@ However, the meetings go on for hours, so would it be possible for you to come on in the mornings on Monday? If not possible, we could try to move our meetings to Saturday so you could do it on Sunday mornings. :0 Well, I'll figure it out one way or another!

Yes! You can reach me at kairi@randomc.net, and you can also reach the A/D supervisor Cyclone on the Eureka Seven forums or on his tumblr at http://traparcyclone.tumblr.com/

    10. 5 AM Oo ... and I kinda have class Monday morning xD
      It's okay, I'm sure we'll find an alternative :p
      Btw, I guess " kairi@randomc.net " is an email address, isn't it?
Thanks for more of your time x)
      Sincerely, Daniel.

    11. Yeah, I'll see if we can move it to Saturday, so for you it would happen on Sunday mornings. Would that be okay? I'll check to see if everyone can do this.

Yes, it is an email address! Not at all! ^^

    12. No problems for me on Sunday mornings, I'll just have to wake up a bit earlier ^^
      Sincerely, Daniel.

    13. Okay, I'll talk with everyone to see if this is okay. If it's not, we'll figure out something different. One way or another we shall make it work haha.

  3. Out of curiosity what sort of coding do you expect to need and what sort of expectations do you have with regard to the game.
Plain vanilla VN or maybe some interesting segments of other genre persuasion as some VNs entertain from time to time?
Also do you plan to churn it out entirely during the summer?

I'm not sure if I will have time to spare to help, but it's always good to know what sort of things you could be getting into, just in case.

    1. Hi Jaen! We're using Ren'py so far, but we do have programmers who seem to want to use python and such. We're talked about perhaps doing mini games and stuff half-heartedly, but right now it's just a VN in a dating sim format with a gauge. If you would like to join and suggest something different at the regular sunday meetings you can! As my senpai says; if you can think it up, a programmer can do it. We've changed quite a lot of the game since we started so I can easily imagine something like this coming up at one of the meetings sooner or later.

It is designated as our summer project since many of the writers are college students and have vacations then, but we have no deadline. :)

Thanks for your interest! You're always welcome to show up at the meetings if you'd like to check things out or ask more questions!

    2. Well Ren'py is written (and I think extensible in) Python as far as I know, but there are certainly bound to be concessions you have to make to how Ren'py sees things as long as you use it as a framework for your game. I remember Katawa Shoujo having a firework scene that lagged the hell out of my laptop despite not looking especially graphically demanding.

I was mostly curious how far off the beaten track you plan to go at the moment, since things like - I don't know - explorable Gekko would really set the game apart. And be damn straight awesome to boot ; )

Hmm, I'll see about that IRC meeting thing, what sort of time and (timezone) you are holding it exactly?

      Delete
    3. Ren'py is pretty much usable in English, but I'm no programmer and ours were pretty happy to hear that Python was usable. Hmm, that's strange, well, we'll see what happens with ours. :0

We haven't really talked about this, so I'm glad you're bringing it up! Yes, that would be rather interesting. :0

IRC meetings happen every Sunday at 8/9 Central. I'm Pacific time so this happens at 7/8 for me. I'm also usually in the room most days working on the Eureka/Renton arc. :)
