Kōkyōshihen Eureka Seven: New Order - 6

That took longer than I expected.

Download Link: Volume 2 Chapter 6

Translator Notes: Why isn't there more interaction between Renton and Anemone? It's so amusing! Otherwise, I just want to apologize for being over a month overdue on my translations, things have been hugely hectic, and if you follow my posts on LoQ, you know I'm still a good three to four weeks behind here as well. Regardless, I hope you'll enjoy the chapter!

Please don't upload this chapter to a reader, I'll do it myself when I've finished the entire volume! Thanks for understanding!

[Spoilers Beyond This Point!]

This isn't that long of a chapter, though I find it to be a pretty interesting one. The first half is really dedicated to Anemone and her issues with herself, but I feel like, more than usual, she comes off as incredibly selfish. I don't think that's new to her character though, I just feel like this is more "woe is me!" than she usually is, though some parts of it feel very genuine regardless. It's easy to feel like there's no one there for you sometimes, and I can understand that under her circumstances she's become very preoccupied in being a victim, but you know, Renton is right too. It's really rather difficult for there to be absolutely no one who doesn't care for you even a little, and though you might feel alienated, who knows, maybe it's you who's built up the walls after all.

I find it hugely amusing that right after all the drama she ends up joining Eureka and Renton on their journey though, and the interactions between her and Renton are pretty fun. Anemone, after all, is mostly concerned with herself, and Renton is mostly concerned with Eureka, so they end up rubbing each other the wrong way quite a bit. I like how GAR Renton is in NO, as it's just nice to see him really step up with the things he's learned from pre-New Order and do what he thinks is right, but I love that he's still a dork and will innocently expect the girls to jump in with him, and also feel left out when they don't. Things won't stay lighthearted forever though, and now that Dominic's found the trio, things are bound to get a bit prickly, especially now that Eureka is getting contemplative again. She doesn't have too large of a role this time, so it'd be nice to see her step up from now on.
