"Love Probe"

Watching Mockingbird finally be defeated is really almost anti-climactic at this point; he's been the man behind the monster for so long that it's kind of hard to believe that he really died this time. His twisted views on love and why he tortured Shiro the way he did is typical of the human insanity and demented nature of this series, but it's really rather creepy to hear him say he took a little girl apart for the sake of finding love through dissection, even by DW standards. He's a sick bastard and I can't say I'm sad to see him killed (especially at the hands of Ganta), but now that he's out of the way, there's nothing holding Shiro back (which was his goal in the first place). It really does seem as though the Wretched Egg has won this internal battle for possession of Shiro's body, but if the clues are pointing to something, it's that Ganta is the only thing that can return her to her true self. As gory or disturbing as this series is, it is a Shounen manga, so it's probable that the strength of the feelings between these two will save at least Shiro, though it seems that Ganta's purpose is hinted to be a rather demented one. Perhaps Sorae made it so that Ganta's death would stimulate Shiro out of her double personality, but from what we do know so far, his special Branch of Sin already endangers his life. Will this end in a tragedy, or will Shiro and Ganta find some other way to escape from the cruel game Rinichiro and Sorae created?
