Overall Review: Chihayafuru 2

Chihayafuru is a phenomenon all of its own.

Chihayafuru 2 - 24 & 25 [End]

"When I Must Hide" and "On Mt. Fuji’s Lofty Peak, by the Drift of Falling Snow"

That was emotionally uncalled for.

Chihayafuru 2 - 22 & 23

"Long Last We Meet" and "To See the Beautiful Cherry Blossoms"

Why in the heck did I put this off til the end?

Chihayafuru 2 - 21

"But Its Legacy Continues to Spread"

Two weeks later, still intense.

Chihayafuru 2 - 20

"The Fall Paddy Shacks"

As if there wasn't enough drama already, was this really necessary?!

Chihayafuru 2 - 19

"I Do Not Know Where This Love Will Take Me"

I just held my breath, screamed, laughed, choked, and cried within a span of two minutes.

Chihayafuru 2 - 18

"My Fear is That You Will Forget"

Another week, another excruciatingly tense match.

Chihayafuru 2 - 17

"Gust of Wind"

Passion is hardly a new theme in anime, but rarely is it so elegantly and powerfully impacted on the viewer from a sport as niche as this one is.

Chihayafuru 2 - 16

"Wait for the Emperor's Return"

I should have known there would be a recap.

Chihayafuru 2 - 15

"No Matter Where I Stand"

Oh dear goddess, the suspense!

Chihayafuru 2 - 14

"People Would Always Ask if I Was Pining for Someone"

Holy HELL, that was too much!

Chihayafuru 2 - 13

"In My Dreams, I Creep Closer to You"

It's so nice to be back on familiar territory after this week of premieres. It makes me appreciate just how much I love knowing and being attached to my characters.

Chihayafuru 2 - 12

"The Only Sign of Summer"

Beat the snot out of her, Chihaya!

Chihayafuru 2 - 11

"I Feel As Though My Body Is On Fire With Ibuki Mugwort"

They're sure milking every drop of the anticipation for the Arata-Chihaya-Taichi meeting.

Chihayafuru 2 - 10

"Rain Takes Longer To Dry"

It's like the whole anime world is out to make me go back to astrophysics.

Chihayafuru 2 - 9

"My Only Thought"

As if the soundtrack isn't enough to always drag my emotions along, Arata's first true appearance in ages is only that much more powerful to watch.

Chihayafuru 2 - 8

"Which Shines Over Mount Mikasa"

A storm has arrived in the form of two Karuta gods.
